Annual school Rimdro
This year the annual Rimdro was performed coinciding with the favorable zakhar on 31st April 2021, it is an annual spiritual ceremony performed in the school for the well-being of the sentient beings and warding off unforeseen misfortunes to fulfill wishes and to generate merits.
The day-long ritual was presided over by former Thridang be Lam Khencho along with five other monks in accordance with the directives issued by the Dzongkhag Covid-19 task force. With the due diligence of situations around the globe, the school decided to perform ‘Guru Dragpoi Marchen, Jabzhi, Mekha and Soelkha’. According to the Buddhist tradition, it is believed that the Guru Dragpoi practices arise from the Terma or “revealed Treasure” traditions of Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism. The ritual of wrathful form of Guru Rimpoche has superseding power to dispel obstacles and purify any remaining demerits to usher in happiness and prosperity in The New Normal situation like today. In addition, the Lam also gave pieces of advice on the importance of attending religious functions, and practicing dharma for self-development in present life and ensuring good rebirth in future.
